What actually happens during a Doctor Clean housekeeping session — and why a tidy home feels so different

Doctor Clean Housekeeping

Life gets busy. Dishes pile up, laundry sits unfolded, the bin hasn’t been emptied in two days, and somewhere in all of that — you’ve stopped noticing. A Doctor Clean housekeeping session doesn’t just clean your home. It gives it back to you.

It starts before our cleaner even touches anything

Every home is different. A young couple’s apartment has different priorities from a family with two kids. That’s why Doctor Clean housekeeping sessions are built around you — before the session starts, you tell our cleaner what areas matter most, what to prioritise, and where to spend the time. As long as it falls within the hours booked, the session is yours to direct.

What our cleaner arrives with

Doctor Clean brings the essentials — vacuum, cloths, sponges, degreaser, and household cleaning solutions. You don’t need to stock up or prepare anything special. The tools that arrive at your door are enough to handle the full scope of a standard housekeeping session.

The kitchen — where most homes need it most

Dish washing is one of the most common tasks our cleaners handle first. A cleared, clean kitchen sink changes the feel of an entire home almost instantly. From there, surfaces get wiped down, the stovetop gets degreased, and the space starts to breathe again. For homes that need it, our cleaner can tackle the bin, tidy countertops, and leave the kitchen looking like it did the day you moved in.

Laundry, ironing, and the things that pile up

Clothes washing with the washing machine, ironing, clothes hanging and folding — these are all part of what Doctor Clean housekeeping covers. The basket that’s been sitting in the corner of the bedroom for four days? That’s exactly what this session is for. Our cleaner works through it methodically, leaving clothes clean, pressed, and put away properly.

It’s one of those things that sounds small but changes everything about how a home feels when you walk through the door after work.

Floors, beds, and the full sweep through

Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping are handled as part of every session — working through each room systematically. Beds are made, pillows straightened, and surfaces tidied. Toilets are scrubbed. Windows get cleaned. Trash is cleared from every bin in the home.

What's not in the standard session

Housekeeping is about maintaining a home, not overhauling it. Fixing and repairing, heavy-duty stain removal, furniture cleaning (sofas, mattresses, rugs, curtains), personal belongings, painted walls, wall fans, nanny service, and cooking all fall outside the standard scope. These require more time, specialist tools, or a different type of visit altogether.

If any of these are on your list, Doctor Clean’s team can discuss what’s needed and put together the right plan — just reach out before booking.

Excellent article! Another great eco-friendly cleaning option is to make your own all-purpose cleaner with vinegar, water, and essential oils. It’s super cheap and effective!
